This Vandor watch with its radium dial, was discovered in an ebay lot with 3 other wristwatches. At first glance, the crystal was heavily worn and the dial was caked in grime. The seconds hand was also severely bent.

Opening the case revealed a heavily neglected movement that showed signs that it possibly had gone through the wash. There were also deep scratches in the movement from previous watchmakers. At the least, the movement would need a thorough cleaning and restoration of the seconds hand.

During disassembly, it was discovered that the yoke on the keyless works had snapped. A new one would need to be sourced and installed.

Using my inverto K&D staking set, i proceeded to straighten the seconds hand

After straightening the seconds hand and stripping the old paint, a thin coat of enamel model paint was applied with one brushstroke and lightly heated to acheive a uniform look.
Upon reassembly, found that the balance spring is missaligned and not on its plane anymore. This will need to be addressed.
