Pobeda Soviet Wristwatch 15J – USSR

The Discovery

This watch was acquired as part of an untested lot of vintage wristwatches. Hidden among neglected and non-running pieces, it showed clear signs of decades of wear but retained its original character, making it an ideal candidate for a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration.

The movement appeared complete with no obvious missing or damaged components. Old lubricants and debris indicated that a complete service was necessary.

Operational Verification

With the movement fully assembled, its operation was observed prior to installing the dial and hands. This stage confirmed proper function and provided a final opportunity to inspect the escapement, gear train, and balance in motion before completing the restoration.

Final Assembly

With the movement serviced and operating correctly, the dial, hands, crystal, and case were reassembled. The watch was then subjected to a final functional check to confirm proper winding, hand setting, and timekeeping.

Regulation

Following servicing, the movement was regulated using a timegrapher to evaluate its rate, amplitude, and beat error. Final adjustments were made to achieve stable and reliable timekeeping.

Following regulation and final assembly, the watch was returned to reliable operating condition. The original dial, hands, and case were preserved, and a new leather strap was fitted to complement the restoration.
